Leaving our Mark

We are always searching for new ways to connect our readers to the news, events, people, and happenings of Blount County. Recently, we were introduced to a company that gives us an opportunity to do just that.

InfoMark is a platform that we can use to connect additional content, photos, and videos to the stories found in each week’s paper.

Since space dictates much of what is written and how many photos or graphics we can share on a weekly basis, InfoMark is “designed to give readers an additional user experience,” said Jesse Stallone, InfoMark president. “InfoMark brings more resources to readers and enhances their experience”

All this extra information is found in one easily accessible link through infomark.com or the InfoMark app. It’s easy! It’s free! And unlike many social media outlets, no personal data is collected. There’s no signing up. You don’t even enter an email. All you do is go to the website and enter the Mark, which is an alphanumeric code that follows the star (*) key.

The Blount Countian is excited about having our own Mark, *TBCN. Here’s how it works. At the end of an article, you see *TBCN. Then you head on over to infomark.com, enter *TBCN, and discover the rest of the story.

“This gives you a more personal link to your audience,” Stallone said. “InfoMark also creates a history for your users so they can listen, watch or view Marks any time.”

For more information and to see for yourself how it works, head on over to infomark.com, enter *INFO, and watch the introductory video.

Infomark.com and the InfoMark app are digitally linked and allow users to create Marks, view Marks, view Mark history and “favorite” Marks.

So keep an eye out for *TBCN next week, you never know where we might leave our Mark.

InfoMark is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xante Corporation, headquartered in Mobile.
